Experience the Magical Lights of Milton - For a Great Cause
The Magical Lights of Milton returns for its 15th season, inviting families and friends to enjoy a dazzling holiday light show at 876 Willow Avenue, Milton. Featuring more than 35,000 lights synchronized to music, visitors can tune in through FM 99.7 to watch the display from the warmth of their vehicles, and those looking for extra festive fun can grab interactive bracelets or glow-sticks that flash along with the music. All proceeds support the Milton District Hospital Foundation, a community-driven effort that has raised more than $100,000 to date. With hot apple cider on opening night and a joyful, welcoming atmosphere, this beloved tradition continues to brighten the season for all who visit.
Celebrate Christmas on the Rails - Halton County Railway Museum
“Christmas on the Rails” offers a magical, old-world holiday experience: visitors ride restored vintage streetcars through snow-dusted woods at the HCRR in Milton, Ontario, with festive music, twinkling lights, and the charm of a winter wonderland. Rides last about 20 minutes, and there may be up to four different streetcars operating. The grounds and historic buildings are elaborately decorated for the season, creating a cozy, nostalgic atmosphere. Santa makes a special appearance — roaming the site and even (on occasion) steering a streetcar on a North-Pole–bound journey.
This year’s event also includes a new cookie-decorating activity for kids in Barn 4 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (for a small fee). Guests can enjoy seasonal treats like hot chocolate, cider, coffee, or cookies as they explore the site. Tickets are available online or at the door, weather permitting, and the HCRR welcomes all ages, making it a perfect family holiday outing.
Visit Santa Morgan at The Milton Fairgrounds
Each December, Santa returns to the Milton Fairgrounds for “Santa at the Fairgrounds”, a festive, family-friendly holiday event where visitors can meet Santa Morgan, take a photo, and browse goods from local vendors. Admission is free, and photos with Santa are available for a modest fee of $15; the photos are emailed to families after the event. Guests can also enjoy the cozy outdoor fire pits — perfect for roasting marshmallows and enjoying s’mores — and warm drinks while exploring the holiday market and vendor stalls.
Held at 136 Robert Street, this event runs on the first three weekends of December and welcomes people of all ages. A collection drive supports the community, making the occasion festive and charitable for everyone involved.
