Celebrate the Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games

From Friday, August 8th to Sunday, August 10th, the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games takes over the charming town of Fergus, just outside of Elora, for one of the coolest Scottish heritage celebrations in North America. Over three fun-filled days, the town buzzes with music, sports, and a real sense of community. You can catch exciting Highland Games like caber tossing, hammer throw, and tug-of-war, where strong athletes show off their skills. Everywhere you go, you’ll hear bagpipes and see Highland dancers rocking colorful tartans, keeping traditions alive. There’s plenty to explore too—historical reenactments, clan meetups, workshops on Celtic culture and genealogy, storytelling, and whisky tastings. It’s a great day out for families, with kids’ activities, artisan markets, and tasty Scottish food.

When the sun sets, the party continues with concerts, ceilidhs, and live music from top Celtic performers. Whether you’re Scottish or just love the vibe, the Fergus Scottish Festival is a can’t-miss celebration full of fun, pride, and good times.
